My father, Ken, was an assistant trainer at Dixiana in the '60s. His time there was the best years of his life. He talked about Dixiana and Lexington a lot before he passed away in 2009. I wanted to take him there for another visit, but he decided to remember it from when he lived and worked there.
Someday soon, I would like to visit with my family. My dad also talked a lot about someone named Cornelius (I think) and I'd like to know whether I could meet him. I kept the forty or so winners circle photos of my dad, some of which with Dixiana. It's funny how when we have the chance to ask questions about our parents' experiences, the questions don't come to mind as readily as when they're gone.

I was drawn into the Domino gate to a comfort of beauty a horsemans dream. Met the farm trainer, Dermot Fagan & treated like Royalty. On another enterance I met Bill Shively w/ his wife on a stroll thru the farm w/ their baby. I again was treated like Royalty & will plan a trip soon. I have a
grand-daughter of Cozene I would enjoy have a foal & I pray Mr. Shively may help a
dream of mine. The Mansion was a grand design. Enjoy rebuilding a grand old/new historic future. Soon Pf

Our sincerest sympathy at your loss. Most thankful to Providence that Mr. and Mrs. Shively nor anyone else were unharmed in the fire. We hope that you will be able to carry on your objective, the restoration of this historic site.
